Standing Together in Loss

Standing Together in Loss

Help bring healing and support to grieving children and their families who lost their loved ones!

"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." (Matthew 5:4)

A training course to support children and adults (parents and specialists) through grief and healing.

This project offers guidance for specialists and families who have lost their sense of security, foundation, or loved ones, helping them stay connected and navigate grief together.

For three years now, Ukrainian families have endured the brutal reality of full-scale war. Daily shelling, injuries, death, the loss of homes, loved ones, and normal life—this has become a painful daily existence for countless families with children. To date, nearly 400,000 soldiers have been killed, captured, or gone missing. Losing a loved one is one of the most devastating forms of loss, often leaving deep emotional wounds, both for adults and children who are left to cope alone. Even professionals who work with grieving families often find themselves mourning their own losses while trying to support others.

This course was born from the pain and confusion of parents and specialists asking:
"I'm not a psychologist—my husband died defending our country. How do I tell my daughter her father is gone?"
"What if my own grief overwhelms me? How can I still be strong for my child?"
"Is it normal that my child won't speak about her father's death? That she acts like nothing happened?"

Our training provides simple, practical tools for adults to help children process loss, offer comfort in grief, and ensure no one suffers alone.

This is for those who want to stand beside the hurting, but don’t know how.

We teach how to recognize pain, create space for tears and remembrance, and be fully present in love and compassion.
